As one of the most recognized names in the local SA Music Scene, Lee Thompson has unleashed his project of Uber-Talented Young Jazz Talents with his self-titled group, The Lee Thompson Quartet. The multi-talented Thompson Quartet boasts a number of well-recognized Jazz artists. Their versatility allows for cool & mellow sets as well as more upbeat funky sets with or without a vocalist.
Tim Welsh and Luca Hart have just launched their collaborative duo boasting live saxophone and violin performance over electronic music.
Their sound is suited to both background/reception type scenarios as well as keeping the dance floor going into the early hours of the morning.
Petrus de Beer is a classically trained violinist (MMus RSAMD) who resides in Paarl, South Africa.
He worked for the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra as a principal player and taught at various top music schools. Currently he freelances in various combinations and styles, ranging from Classical, Blues and Jazz. As a sought-after session player, he made numerous recordings for Television, radio, CD and DVD. He taught at the University of Stellenbosch (violin and viola). Mr De Beer is a member of the acclaimed Cape Town Tango ensemble.
The PLAY String Quartet is made up of wonderfully talented, young professional musicians in Cape Town! Our boutique ensemble has been performing together for the last seven years and boasts with the largest repertoire of contemporary pop songs in South Africa!
As individual players we perform on various classical and popular music platforms and ensembles – including with the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra, Stellenbosch University, Cape Town University, private celebrity concerts including, Michael Bublé, Afrikaans is Groot, various other bands, and festivals around South African. As a quartet we mostly perform at weddings and corporate events.
Kirstin has been captivating audiences with her soulful melodies and passionate performances across South Africa since 2013. In June 2023 she relocated from Gauteng to the Western Cape.
Kirstin can tailor her sets specifically to what the client requests. She’s got an expanse repertoire of classic sax standards like “Careless Whisper”, background lounge music like “Café Del Mar”, jazz standards like “Summertime”, South African hits like “Special Star”, tropical house music and the newest radio hits. Whether you want music for welcoming drinks, background music while your guests are dining or if you want to get you guests dancing and singing along, she’s got you covered.
Kirstin can be booked as a solo act, as duo or trio act (with a violinst/vocalist/pianist etc.) or with a DJ. With a touch of elegance and a huge passion for music and performing, Kirstin brings something unique to any event.
